Title page from "De Studio '' (Paris, 1536) published by Jodocus Badius and illustrated by Orance Finé (or Fine). The central woodcut shows a printing office; he twisted perspective is deliberate, and emphasises the turn of the printing-press handle. The words "Prelum Ascensianum" appear over the press - the name of Baudius' printing house, "Ascension Press". The title page was reproduced in "Die Bücher-Ornamentik Der Renaissance" by A. F. Butsch (Leipzig, 1881). The engraving of the printing-press is easy to extract.
