Examples of different tide types are shown in Fig. 8-11, which shows predicted tide curves for the month of April 1980. Station BC9, southwest of Nunivak Island near the diurnal amphidrome, has an F-value of and is mainly semidiurnal. The lunar perigee is on the 14th with the largest range on about April 18 and the smallest at the beginning and end of the month. BC2 in Bristol Bay has the mixed semi- diurnal type with F = The inequalities are largest after maximum declination of the moon on the 7th and 20th. BC20, near St. Matthew Island, also has a mixed semidiurnal tide, F - Note that while at BC2 the diurnal inequality is mainly in the low tide, at BC20 it is in both the high and low waters. This is caused by differences in the phase relationships between the major diurnal (Oi + Ki) tides and Mj. Finally, the regular diurnal tide type is found at LD5, near the semidiurnal amphidrome in Norton Sound. Here F = and the fortnightly tropic-equatorial tide cycle, caused by the declination of the moon, is evident.
