Grade ll listed steel truss arch Richmond rail bridge and an Art Deco road bridge behind it - Thames River, Richmond

The river is very low because of the Annual draw off - In order to carry out essential maintenance works on the lock, weirs and sluices and to carry out a riverbed inspection the weirs are lifted at Richmond Lock for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. This allows the river between Richmond Lock and Teddington Lock to drain down at low water on each tide.
