This raises the point of steam exit to the maximumpossible height above the steam generating surface. Butin order to reduce the ]x)ssibi]ity of lifting water to aminimum, a perforated pipe 6 in. in diameter and 6 in. long is suspended in each drum with a center open-ing directly beneath the drypipe casting.
