Place du Béguinage, Beguinage square, Brussels, Belgium. St Cathérine neighborhood. Square located next to the Église St Jean Baptiste au Béguinage. Stepan Cathérine area is lively, especially at night. Lots of seafood arranged one after another vying to customers in a popular and markedly flamenco neighborhood. Its terraces and lounges to taste the chocolate slow down the pace of a vibrant city. Saint-Gery, located further south, takes its name from an ancient parish, in this case, San Gaugericus of Cambrai (ca. 550-ca. 626), who was bishop of the city of French Flanders. Before the important urban transformation, Saint-Gery was an island formed by the Senne River. The island formed a large circle that went from the old church of St. Clare to the current bag, along with another second smallest island near the Fontainas square where the river skirted the church of Nuestra Señora del Socorro.
