© Jeff Moore Steve Backshall, RSPCA Vice President with RSPCA Volunteers in striking, oversized wildlife themed carnival head-dresses, will also be encouraging VIP visitors to become 'Wildlife Friends' making a pledge for wildlife. The RSPCA received reports of more than 4,000 animals impacted by litter last year - more than 10 every day on average, and has rescued several seals injured by plastic ring frisbees stuck around their necks causing deep wounds. The RSPCA Garden at Chelsea has a central water feature lined with recycled plastic waste in reference to the problem litter poses to wildlife. As well as providing movement, sound and a drink for wildlife, the water feature symbolises the rescue-rehabilitate-release cycle of care given to thousands of animals at the charity’s four specialist wildlife centres.
