Ukraine's nameplate 340,000 (lately100,000 b/d) Kremenchug based UkrTatNafta refinery co-owned by private UkrTatNafta and the Ukrainian state, primary fuels producer. Pictured is the refinery crude oil tank farm, built in the 1960s and renovated in the 2000s. Since 1994 a Russo-Ukrainian joint venture between Ukranian government and Russia's crude oil rich Tatarstan autonomy, since 2007 Kremenchug became the subject of a major international lehal rift between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as the Russian managers were squeezed out from the refinery by the hostile takeover of the local business and financial by the end of 2012 it was the last operating full scale oil refinery in Ukraine, the Last Mohican of old age, when in 1988 Ukraine was Europe's largest oil refining industry. Initially designed for Russia's Urals, primary crude export blend, in the second half of 2010-s Kremenchug refinery processed Azeri light, Kazakh CPC and even several cargoes of loaded from Texas terminals WTI crude oil blend. The last large scale modernization at tje refinery, the launch of French Axens isomerization unit was completed in October 2020.
