They produce a lavish profusion of blooms, giving color, life and beauty to the garden just at a time when other plants have been destroyed by frost and are looking their worst. Frost does not materially affect the flowering, and it frequently happens that an armful of flowers can be cut late in November. They are reasonably hardy if planted in a well-drained position, with a covering of leaves or loose litter during the winter, or may be carried over with perfect safety in a cold frame.
