The 823d Base Defense Squadron (BDS) march on the flightline during a redeployment, Oct. 26, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The 822d, 823d and 824th BDS’s provide high-risk force protection and integrated base defense for expeditionary air forces. Airmen from the 823d BDS just returned home from conducting relief-in-place in the United States Africa Command theater while Airmen from the 824th BDS took their place.
