SHOULDER, X-RAY

The shoulder joint is the articulation connecting the arm to the thorax. The head of the humerus is articulated with the scapula posteriorly and the clavicle anteriorly. Three zones can be described: the deltoid region (the shoulder cuff), the axillary region (armpit), and the scapular region. The shoulder joint is a highly mobile articulation enabling a wide range of arm movements. This is a colored x-ray of a normal shoulder.
