The local trolleymen went on a strike March 30. No cars except those carrying the mail were seen until April 1, when most of the lines resumed their work. This, of course, was a great setback for the florists. Friday, April 2, was a fair day, and things began to boom. How- ever, this was too good to last long, and Saturday the snow storm covered the ground with a fall of from eight to twelve inches. Easter morning •dawned bright and fair, but one would have thought it a-winter's day instead of an April morning. The result of it all was that many plants and flowers were left over to be disposed of in any way possible. Funeral work has been quite plenti- ful since Easter, and has helped to use up some of the left-over stock. Easter lilies were fine and brought from 20 to 25 cents a bloom. Roses, pink and white, were $ per dozen; red ones from $2 to $3. Violets were $ per hundred; sweet peas, 35 to 50 cents a bunch of twenty-five; tulips, 50 to 75 cents per dozen; daffodils, 50 to 60 cents; carnations, 75 cents and $1 per dozen; azaleas, $1 to $5 apiece. F. J. C. ST. PAUI., MINN. Tile Market. Business in the last week, like the weather, has brightened up. General business has been good, and funeral work plentiful. Stock of all kinds is plentiful and sells well. All the re- tailers report a fine business following Easter. Various Notes. Among recent visitors were N. Neil- een and son, of Mankato, Minn.; C. E. Schaefer, of La Crosse, Wis.; J. A. Webber, of Zumbro Heights, Minn., and A. Miller, of Chicago. The St. Paul Florists' Club held an enthusiastic meeting April 13. An account of the meeting of the Minnesota State Ilorists' Association, Aj)ril ,8, will be found on another page of this issue. C. E. P. 117 Ho. Main atraot, ?T. LOUIS.
