A carved Chinese ivory tusk, 19th century Made from one long, stately tusk, depicting a landscape comprised of buildings, fences, temples and pagodas within a dense forest, populated by over 400 extremely finely modelled figures. Some of the buildings with minimal flaws. On a two-piece wood stand carved with flowers. Length 151 cm. Length of tusk 164 cm (measured along the external curvature).
