Tunnel construction. Workers securing avalanche nets to the rockface on the approach to the new Sommand tunnel that is being built in France. This tunnel is being built to protect the D308 road from the many rockfalls and avalanches that plaque this section of its route through the Alps. These nets will help to hold back snow and prevent it from sliding and covering the approach route to the tunnel.
