A freestone section of Ross Creek, below the Cedars, in Lincoln County, northwest Montana. Ross Creek begins high in the Cabinet Mountains, passes through Ross Creek Cedars, running west through the Kootenai National Forest, and finishes its journey where it empties into Bull Lake, south of Troy, Montana. The terrain if rough along the creek, with log jams, waterfalls, and marshy areas common through most of its run. Westslope cutthroat trout are plentiful in crystal clear pools along the creek's entire course. Closer to the lake, bull, brown, rainbow, and cutbow trout are also present on the lower section of the creek.
