White studio in Children's House. Nicolai Cultural Centre, Kolding, Denmark. Architect: Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter, 2008.

Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter (in conjunction with landscape designers Arkitekt Kristine Jensens Tegnestue) were commissioned to transform a 19th century school - with five buildings of varying styles grouped around a large courtyard - into a cultural centre for Kolding. Their aim was to bring a sense of unity to the buildings through the use of Corten steel walls and volumes, and to maximise the limited renovation budget through careful interior interventions. The 5,500 sq m complex now consists of five Houses for Cinema, Children's Culture, Heritage, Arts and Music.
