Upon entering the bed-room and before making the firstvaginal examination, the physician should carefully wash hishands with soap and w^ater, and thoroughly cleanse the fingernails and the folds about their base with the nail-brush. Thesoap should then be carefully rinsed from the brush,^ and thehands again scrubbed, with the nail-brush, in a solution of cor-rosive sublimate, 1:4,000, which is prepared by dissolvin
