Cirrus clouds called 'Mares' Tails', also known as 'fallstreaks'

Cirrus clouds forming mare's tails, also known as fallstreaks. These clouds are composed of ice crystals and their wispy streaked formation is due to the high altitude winds blowing the crystals away from the points at which they have been formed. The presence of such cloud formations indicates a high possibility of seeing two other atmospheric phenomena, sun dogs and haloes.
