Lucille St. Hoyme, J. Lawrence Angel and Thomas Dale Stewart, US physical anthropologists. Lucille St. Hoyme (1924-2001), J. Lawrence Angel (1915-1986), and Thomas Dale Stewart (1901-1997) worked at the US National Museum of Natural History. They are holding a seventeen foot long beard found in a North Dakota attic. St. Hoyme began her career at the Smithsonian as a clerk and stenographer in 1942. She was promoted to curator in 1964 and retired in 1982. St. Hoyme studied variations of human traits from region to region and over time.
