A painted Persian lacquer casket with a mirror Qajar period, dated 1859. Wooden casket finely painted on both sides with flowers and birds, with hinged lid. On the edges gold floral frieze with green resp. red background. The interior of the lid with finely painted flower bouquet with maker's signature and date "1276" (= 1859). Mirror insert presumably of later date. Size 18 x cm. Including two handwritten certificates(?) on paper, one dated "1346" (= 1927).
