Approximately 2,900 Soldiers and Airmen have been mobilized to respond and participate in recovery efforts as Hurricane Florence caused flooding and damage to the state. The Guard is focusing its efforts primarily in the northeastern region of the state as the rivers rise from run off from the high volume of rain that impacted North Carolina.
