A protest rally for Yulia Tymoshenko in Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine. Yulia Tymoshenko was the former Prime minister in the Ukraine, voted in in 2005. In 2010 she ran again for office but this time narrowly lost, claiming the vote counting was rigged. After losing, a number of legal accusations were sited against Tymoshenko. In 2011 a Ukrainian court sentenced Tymoshenko to seven years in prison. The sentence was based on her being found guilty of abuse of office when brokering a gas deal with Russia in 2009. In May 2012 she went on hunger strike, claiming she was being abused by prison guards.
