MELON—Water. German, Wasser-Melone. French, Melon d'Eau. Watermelons require a rich, sandy soil for best development, and do best in warm latitudes. Cultivate same as Musk Melons, except that the hills should be nearly double the distance apart. If by mail in quantities of M lb. and upwards, post- age must be added at the rate of 16c per lb. Scaly Bark—A new and popular variety, covered with mottled green spots, lookinglike fish scales. It will keep in good condition after picking longer than any other sort; fruit, large oblong; flesh, red and very tender.
