Scientists study spread of the invasive emerald ash borer


Hudson Mills, Michigan - An emerald ash borer trap tree at Hudson Mills Metropark. Researchers from Michigan Technological University use the trap trees to study the spread of the invasive pest. The emerald ash borer, a native of Asia, was discovered near Detroit in 2002. Since then it has killed tens of millions of ash trees in the United States and Canada.
