A painting of tempera on wood titled Triumph of Mardocheus by Jacopo del Sellaio dating from 1485 that is part of a cycle that chronicles Esther marrying the Persian King Ahasuerus (aka Xerxes) in order to protect the Jewish people from a plot organized by a court dignitary. It is on display at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy while the other two in the cycle are at the Louvre in Paris and the National Museum of Budapest.
