The Danish Minister of Justice, Morten Boedskov is replying to the questions about youth suffrage - the right to vote for 16 year olds. The Danish Youth Parliament is held every second year by the Danish Parliament. The 179 seats are taken by Danish secondary students, grades 8 and 9, invited to become politicians for one day. The purpose is to introduce the rules on which democracy is based in order to increase understanding of the processes leading to democratic decisions and to understand the interplay between the democratic decision-making processes.
