The church of St Issui in Partrishow, Powys is internationally famous for its medieaval wall paintings which escaped the destruction of the Reformation due to the isolated position of this hillside church. It also benefited from sensitive conservation work at the turn of the twentieth century by leading Ecclesiastical architects Caroe. the church is thought to have benefited from the presence in the parish of a minor branch of the Herbert family namely that of the first Earl of Pembroke.
