The hills should be dug about two feet square, eighteeu inches deep, and half filled with well- rotted manure, which must be thoroughly incorporated with the soil. Plant in May, ten seeds to a hill, and when the plants are well up, thin out to three. Cultivate until the vines cover the ground, and pinch the ends of the growing ehopts to induce early fruiting. UIOVNTAIN SWEET. The most popular variety grown; fruit of oblong shape ; flesh red, firm and sweet. Per pkt., 5 cts.; oz., 10 cts.; 14 lb., 20 cts. ; lb., 60 cts, KOI/B'S GEM. Largely grown, particularly in the South, for shipment to Northern markets. Asa shipping melon it has hardly an equal.
