Free—115 Ways to Use Tomatoes Bright Red Sorts For canning these are greatly preferred because of their richer, deeper red color. All scarlet sorts are of greater acidity than the purples. 1975 Childs' Earliest Producer. (See rear cover for color illustra- tion.) Of all the vegetables grown, tomatoes seem to be the one that carries most interest in the ripening period. Somehow or other we all watch and wait for early tomatoes. Here is an extra early tomato that will require less waiting than any. It matures in 95 days. Especially in the northern districts it is valuable, as it is a vigorous growing quick maturing type. The fruits are of fine size, brilliant scarlet color. Ripens uniformly. Nearly round. Entirely smooth. Flesh solid. Finest flavor. Very productive. Tough skin. Good keeper. Fine shipper. None better for slicing, catsup, pickling or cooking. Pkt. 25c; oz. $; }i lb. $; lb. $ Postpaid. 1960 Bonny Best. (See illustration.) Bonny Best is ready for picking from 100 to 105 days after seeds are sown. Where staked, as shown in illustra- tion, with the plants reduced to the three strongest branches, it is very difficult indeed to beat Bonny Best in yield. Fruits average 3 inches in diameter, are slightly flattened, and borne in handsome clusters. Very heavy crop producer. Pkt. 10c; oz. 45c; lb. $; lb. $ Postpaid. 1970 Matchless. The greatest scarlet main crop sort in cultivation. Bears magnificent 8 to 10 oz. fruits. Few seed cells break up the solid crimson flesh, which is also of delightful quality. Matures in about 120 days. A great home garden variety. Pkt. 10c; oz. 35c; X lb. $; lb. $ P
