Slippers ca. 1892 Rosenbloom's American The so-called "Juliet" (or its masculine incarnation, the "Romeo") with high front and back and low V at the sides, introduced in the early 1890s, was a one of the standard slipper cuts at the turn of the 19th century. This early example in red kid features long curving points which have been exaggerated to a comical extent. The whimsical design and loose fit indicate that this was intended as a domestic slipper.
