One of the many Illuminated passenger cruisers sails in front of the Central Business District ( CBD) of Circular Quay in Sydney during the annual two-week celebration of music, attractive designs and special effects lighting. The Sydney Vivid Light Festival is held annually in May just before the start of the winter season in June. This 2024 festival was to acknowledge the reconciliation of the twenty-nine Aboriginal clans of the Eora Nation from the coastal area of New South Wales (NSW). They are the traditional owners of the land on which the festival takes place. This is Australia’s way to pay respects to the Elders past and present and to recognise the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
