Forty-eight lithium ion batteries stack together to create one large energy source for the 100% electric Nissan Leaf. Jokingly referred to as "sardine cans", the li-on batteries at peak charge will garner a 100 mile per charge range for the Leaf that is said to have a top speed of 90 mph.
