Members of the Gifford family stand under a street sign honoring Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Jonathan W. Gifford in the newest area of Arlington National Cemetery, also known as the Millennium site, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Sept. 6, 2018. Gifford was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for his heroic actions in Afghanistan on June 29, 2012. He is the second enlisted member and the first Marine to be honored with a street name at Arlington National Cemetery.
