A 19th Century view of the Reculver Towers and beach Reculver is a village and coastal resort about 3 miles (5 km) east of Herne Bay in Kent, south-east England, The village was largely abandoned in the late 18th century, and most of the church was demolished in the early 19th century. Protecting the ruins and the rest of Reculver from erosion was and is an ongoing challenge.
