On the corner opposite the Eye and Ear Infirmary standsthe County Jail, generally known as the Charles Street Jail. Walking now along Charles Street to the south, one comesto Cambridge Street. At its junction begins the new CambridgeBridge, begun in 1900 and not yet completed. It is to take theplace of the old WTest Boston Bridge.
