Canterbury, Kent: landscaped C1st/2ndAD Roman burial mound & southern walk of medieval city walls built on the line of C3rdAD Roman defences.

Wall walk and towers on the south/south-west section of the medieval town walls built on the line of the 3rd century AD Roman defences. The landscaped cone in the public park is the Dane John Mound, a first- or second-century AD Roman burial mound. The mound, with its attendant cremation cemetery, originally lay outside the Roman town, but the defences were extended in the C3rdAD.
