Engineers and workmen lifted a 21 Metere Norway Spruce Christmas tree from the back of a lorry and craned it into position in London's Trafalgar Square. Since 1947 the tree has been an annual gift to the people of London from the people of Oslo as a token of thanks for their assistance during World War II.
