Leopoldo López Mendoza is a Venezuelan politician, currently serving as National Coordinator of Venezuelan political party Voluntad Popular. López, who led the 2014 protests in Caracas, was arrested on 18 February, 2014. On September 10, 2015, he was sentenced to 13 years, 9 months in prison for Leopoldo López, after being convicted of crimes of public instigation, property damage, intentional arson and association to commit a crime, in relation to violent acts Which took place in Caracas on February 12, 2014.
