The. convention having been the all absorbing theme of the past week. there is little to be said about busi- ness, except that it has the usual fla- vor of summer dullness. A number of the visiting delegates made the rounds of the wholesale district, and most of the dealers visited the convention gar- den and Mechanics' Hall. Asters and gladioli continue plentiful, but move .slowly, and there is more than enough of other stock to supply the light de- mand. The weather warmed up con- siderably on August 23, but summer is now well spent. Some of the carnation growers are not yet through plant- ing, but the work is now being vig- orously pushed. NOTES. It is pre- sumed that people who attend conven- tions go prepared to pay their own way jind we feel sure that most of themT after enjoying the leading feat- ures of a convention, would be better pleased if left to spend the remainder of their time according to their* in- dividual tastes.
