Scenes of old Dubai on Dubai creek and Shindagha village

The image[s] was taken in the late 1970's around 1979 when development in Dubai was beginning to take off rapidly. The photo here is of the Shindagha village at the mouth of Dubai Creek. Most buildings had been abandoned including the Rulers complex that belonged to Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum, father of Sheikh Rashid who is credited with the start of Dubai Development that was passed onto his sons into the modern city of Dubai we see today. Shindagha would lay abandoned through the 1980's until the site was developed in the 1990s to form the Dubai. See other images in this Village
