A sixteenth-century sacque coat in its originalsin—or grace—appears illustrated on the left, withsleeves slashed and the armholes bearing paddedrolls on the top. The inner vest has a high collarboned to stand out at the back, and the helmet-. A SHOULDER-JACKET. VI IN THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY 63 shaped hat is trimmed with bands of braid buttonedwith gold, with two feathers waving at one side. Another edition of the helmet-shaped hat, farless successful, however, in the interests of beauty.
