A charming hillside village in the Drôme and in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region just 5 kilometres from Nyons, Venterol is an ideal place for a relaxing stroll. Don't miss this picturesque place where traces of the past still remain like the parish church on the little village square whose bell tower has a beautiful wrought iron campanile from the 17th century on top. Around the building, winding side streets, old stone houses and covered passages add to Venterol's peaceful atmosphere. Another sight to see is the old Protestant temple in the classical style, dating from 1858, which now hosts cultural events like art shows. Venterol focuses on the production of olive oil, fruit and viticulture (appellation Cotes du Rhone). The charm of the perched village, its heritage and its environment make the town (about 700 inhabitants) a stage of interest near major tourist sites. Venterol is also noted for its vineyard, which has been awarded the AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages and whose product will delight the palate of any wine-lover.
