William Henderson, a motor transportation operator assigned to Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (BLT 2/6), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit receives a Navy Achievement Medal during an awards ceremony aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) March 24, 2018. Henderson, along with Sailors aboard the ship, repaired one of four main engines after a crank case malfunctioned, which took 168 man hours to repair while deployed to 6th Fleet area of operations. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
