Total Exports Apricot exports averaged some 60,000 tons (fresh-fruit basis) in 1920-29, in- creased to about 93,000 tons in 1930-39, and then decreased to 16,000 tons for 1950-58. Their importance declined [25 from 39 per cent of the crop in 1920-39 to 8 per cent since 1950. This sharp de- cline in exports (to only one-sixth of the 1930-39 average) was due principally to reduced shipments of processed apri- cots.
