68D operating room specialist students assigned to the Army Medical Center of Excellence perform the mock surgery portion of the 68D Program, Jan. 12, 2023, at the Medical Education and Training Campus, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a culminating exercise which tests everything that they have learned in the last eight weeks of the total 10 weeks of Phase 1. Instructors act as Surgeons while the 68D Students operate in the Surgical Technologist and Nurse Circulator roles.
