Rather smaller than A. maritimns; bill stillslenderer, and tail-feathers still naiTOAver and more acute. Length ; extent 7-50;wing ; tail ; bill ; tarsus, or middle toe and claw, Salt marshes ofthe Atlantic and Gulf States, N. abundantly to Maine ; range similar to that of J., maritimns,but on the whole more northerly, especially in the breeding season ; nest and eggs similar andscarcely distinguishable.
