Southwick came from Lowell, Mass.,and went with Young & Schultz when a boy. Hewas a relation of the old Massachusetts tanners andthe Quakers of that name. His only sister marriedJ. C. Ayer, of Lowell, the sarsaparilla doctor andmillionaire. John C. Southwick married a niece ofAaron and H. B. Claflin. He retired from the firmof Schultz, Southwick & Co. about 1890. James H. Percival was a bookkeeper with Young& Shultz. He married Mary Chichester, a sisteiof Mr. Schultzs first wife. He was a partner inSchultz, Southwick & Co. and Schultz, Innes& Co. Edward W. Richardson was brought up in thestore and became a partner with Schultz, Innes ^Co. He married Kate, the youngest daughter ofJ. S. Schultz. Theodore Schultz, oldest son of Schultz, was a partner in the
