Thumian, a popular 1869 was re-elected over George H. was elected Governor for tha third term in 1875. in 1876 he was the standard bearer of the Repub-lican Party in the Presidential contest, and after ahard long contest was chosen President, and w-as inaugurated Monday, March 5, 1875.
