This detector was placed around the low-energy antiproton ring (LEAR) at CERN (the European particle physics laboratory) near Geneva, Switzerland. In 1995, PS210 detected the first atoms of antimatter, or antiatoms. Atoms of antihydrogen were created by combining antiprotons and positrons.
