Close-up view of a giraffe at the Zoo Vienna Schonbrunn Schönbrunn Zoo (German: Tiergarten Schönbrunn) is a zoo on the territory of the Schönbrunn palace and park complex on the outskirts of Vienna. Founded in 1752, it is the oldest zoo in Europe. More than 8500 animals (about 700 species) live here today. More than 2 million people visit the zoo annually.
