The MV Coastal Renaissance is the first of 3 Super C Ferries that will ply between the mainland and Vancouver Island (Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, and Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay). The programme to build the three ships began in 2004. The ships will be the larges double end type ferries in the world. The MV Coastal Renaissance was built in Germany and fist entered the water at her launch in April 2007
